Specialist Post Mortem Examinations

Brain Donation

Research into Rett syndrome can greatly benefit from a specialist post mortem for brain donation. Information packs are available from our office.

If you wish to plan in advance to give consent for a donation, or to arrange a specialist post mortem examination immediately (whether or not you have made a prior arrangement) please get in touch with:

Dr Claire Troakes (Co-ordinator) or Richard Hudspith (Administrator) at the Brain Bank 020 7848 0290 Monday -Friday 9 - 5.

If out of working hours or at weekends, phone 020 7848 0002 (Institute of Psychiatry) and ask for Brain Bank staff to be contacted.

Please note that the Brain Bank is unable to make post-mortem arrangements until the next working day; however, they may still be contacted for out of hours information and advice.

Please remember that, although a post mortem is of most value within 24 hours of the person's death, it is still of considerable benefit if it takes place within 72 hours.
