Support groups
Welcome to the network of RSAUK
support groups, which are located across the UK. Support groups provide an
opportunity for sharing information, social activities, fundraising,
practical advice and having some fun with your family and others. Above all,
they are there to give you a chance to meet others in a similar situation to
your own. Each group will have its own 'character'; some are large
gatherings, others smaller, with 2 or 3 families meeting together. What
counts, at the end of the day, is that you get the chance to socialise and
share information, and hopefully feel that it was worthwhile.
At present the groups do cover
a fairly wide geographical area. There may be one in your area or if not,
perhaps you would like to start one. Support and advice to do this would be
available from the office. You can also pick another group that is
convenient for you, for example if you would like to combine a trip to
family or friends out of your area with a Support Group Meeting.
We are very grateful to all
those parents who have taken on the role of support group organiser – so a
big thank you to them! We are unable to publish their contact details on the
web for reasons of security. For further information, including dates of
meetings, please contact the office or
email us.
